[IOS 5.1] Guide Tethered Jailbreak iPhone 4 iOS 5.1 with RedSn0w (Windows)

This is a tutorial how to jailbreak iPhone 4 firmware 5.1 using Redsn0w for Windows. If you have Mac OSX, see the Mac jailbreak guide here.

Implementation of this method will make your baseband was raised and it will lose the chance to unlock your iPhone. Step 1:
Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage
Download RedSn0w 0.9.10b6 in here and copy it and Pwnage folder. And download 5.1 firmware from here and copy it into the folder (Note: You do not need to download the 5.1 firmware if your iPhone is running firmware)

Extract the RedSn0w by double clicking on it.


Step 2: (You can skip this step if your iPhone is running iOS 5.0)
Connect your iPhone to the computer and itunes pop up.

Select your iPhone from the list on the left side of iTunes. Press the Shift key on your computer and click the Restore button in iTunes. Remember that Restore your iPhone then you will lose all data offline.


Navigate to the Pwnage folder on your desktop and select the 5.1 firmware you downloaded previously. Click the Choose button to continue


iTunes will update your iPhone to the new firmware.

Step 3:
Run RedSn0w folder from the unzipped earlier. ** Windows 7 users would like to run RedSn0w RedSn0w then right-click and select Run as administrator.




Step 4:
When they choose to run Redsn0w Jailbreak button


Step 5:
Make sure your iPhone is connected to the computer and turned off completely and click on the Next button


Step 6:
RedSn0w will show step by step instruction sheet to put the iPhone in DFU mode.
Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds.


Press and hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds.


Release the Power button (power button) and continue holding the Home button when RedSn0w to recognize your iDevice.

Step 7:
You will be iDeivce of exploitation (exploited) with limera1n and will restart.


Step 8:
RedSn0w will prepare to jailbreak.


Step 9:
Select Cydia from the list that appears and click Next.


Step 10:
iPhone will reboot again and RedSn0w will begin uploading the new RAM Disk and Kernel for iPhone.


Step 11:
When the success message appears, the word RedSn0w done. Then the iPhone will reboot (loss account 5 minutes) like to have success with Cydia jailbreak iPhone SpringBoard outside.





Tethered Boot
When you jailbreak you need to run redsn0w to boot tethered.
Step 1:
run RedSn0w and select the button from the Extras menu.


Step 2:
Just select and boot from the Extras menu to click onto your iPhone.
